Field Trips
Groups are eligible for the group rate when they consist of 10 or more paying visitors.

Please keep a few things in mind when planning your visit.
  • Please have money collected as much as possible in advance. This will speed up the admissions process significantly.
  • During the month of May, there will be two animal programs at 10:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily in the zoo’s amphitheater. These programs are of no additional cost to you and will be roughly 20 minutes in duration.
  • Concessions are available, but please let us know if you plan on utilizing this service. Hot dog meals, consisting of a hot dog, a bag of chips & a small slushie drink, are $3.75. For an extended menu, please contact the zoo at (217)585-1821.
  • Please make sure that children are chaperoned at all times.
  • Consider reviewing proper zoo etiquette with your students prior to your visit. This would include no running, no chasing free roaming animals, no throwing items into exhibits and the importance of remaining on the path at all times.
  • When possible buses should park across the street in the park. Please consider dropping students off at the door and then parking.

For additional information or to make a reservation, contact the zoo at (217)585-1821 or
